The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced plans to initiate extensive protest programs across the country to condemn the ongoing Israeli genocide and brutal aggressions in Gaza and Rafah.
BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed made the declaration on Thursday while addressing a protest rally organized by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at the Raju Memorial Sculpture on Dhaka University campus. The event was held to show solidarity with the people of Palestine and to protest the violent actions of Israeli occupation forces.
“On behalf of BNP, I announce that we will soon organize widespread protests both centrally and nationwide against the Israeli genocide and aggression, and to express our unwavering support for the Palestinian people,” Salahuddin stated.
Highlighting the dire situation, he described Palestinians as among the most oppressed and persecuted people in the world, suffering mass killings at the hands of Israel.
The BNP leader called on leaders of Muslim-majority countries to raise their voices strongly and urgently against the genocide unfolding in Gaza and Rafah. “We urge the Muslim world, as well as the global superpowers supporting Israel, to take immediate action to stop this genocide,” he said.
He also expressed frustration over the role of the United Nations, accusing Israel of repeatedly ignoring UN resolutions and defying international law. “Whenever a resolution favoring Palestinian Muslims is proposed, it gets vetoed by one or two superpowers who back Israel,” Salahuddin added.
He emphasized that these superpowers bear responsibility for enabling Israel’s aggression and must be held accountable before the global community.
